What are we?

One of just a few federally-designated U.S. au pair agencies, Expert AuPair is an American cultural exchange program based in St. Petersburg, Florida. We match international students with host families across the United States who are in need of child care. International au pairs work legally for host families, providing up to 45 hours of child care per week, in return for a weekly salary, educational support, and free room and board for one year.

Our Goal

The goal of the program is to enhance the lives of young people from all over the world, while offering families the chance to experience a new culture and receive affordable child care services. The United States au pair program allows au pairs to stay with a host family for one year, with a one-time optional extension. As an au pair, you will become intimately involved in the culture and family life of the United States.  As a host family, you won’t only gain a child care provider, you’ll also gain a new member of the family and have the chance to experience another culture in depth. Your children will also have a chance to learn about citizens from other nations, learn a new language, and view the world through new eyes. Few travel programs can offer anything close to this experience, so the au pair program really is the chance of a lifetime.
